Pest control in Eindhoven
Every pest needs its own approach. Below you can read how we deal with the problems that are common in Eindhoven, always starting from the underlying cause.
Mouse control
Scratching in the crawl space or droppings in the kitchen cupboard? We find out how the mice are getting in, seal openings of around 6 mm or more and deal with them indoors using traps or bait boxes.
Rat control
A rat by the compost heap or under the shed, close to the Dommel? We trace its route inside, treat with professional products and advise on a drain valve if the sewer turns out to be the source.
Wasp nest removal
Wasps under the roof tiles, behind the fascia board or in the garden shed are a familiar late-summer problem in Eindhoven. We treat the nest quickly and safely, ideally in the evening.
Bed bug treatment
Itchy bites in a line after a trip, or after buying a second-hand sofa? We confirm whether bed bugs are to blame and treat the room and furniture with heat and targeted products.
Flea treatment
Fleas are tackled as a team effort: the vet treats your dog or cat, while we treat floors, rugs and furniture, including the spots where eggs and larvae hide away.
Cockroach control
In restaurants, student houses and flats with shared pipework, it is mainly German cockroaches we find. Gel baits in their hiding places and a follow-up check let us target the whole colony.
Ant control
Garden ants under the patio slabs or pharaoh ants in a heated building: we identify the species first, follow the trail and place bait exactly where it will have an effect.
Woodworm treatment
Old beams in Philipsdorp, or an inherited wardrobe full of tiny holes? We look for fresh bore dust, check whether the woodworm is still active and only treat the affected parts.
Other pests
Silverfish, grey silverfish, moths, spiders, stone martens in the roof and pigeons around solar panels are all part of our work. Wherever possible we choose proofing rather than repeated treatments.

Pest control in the City of Light
Ongediertebestrijding Eindhoven is here for anyone who wants to be rid of pests quickly and without fuss. Our certified experts work according to integrated pest management: we inspect, make proofing and prevention the foundation and use control products only where they are targeted. That way we solve the problem without needless strain on your home, your pets or the environment.
Eindhoven is a city of contrasts. The workers' houses of Philipsdorp and the older streets of Stratum and Villapark have timber floors and crawl spaces that give mice and woodworm a chance. Woensel has long rows of post-war family homes and flats, where pests move easily from one house to the next. Along the Dommel and in the Genneper Parken the city is green, which shows in summer in the number of wasps. On Strijp-S and around the TU/e campus, many people live and work in close quarters.
We take all of this into account. If you live in a loft in a former Philips factory, we look at service shafts differently than we would in a detached house in Blixembosch. You get honest advice, a price agreed in advance and a pest controller who works discreetly.
Service area: all of Eindhoven and the surrounding area
Eindhoven has over 240,000 residents; our pest controllers cover every district and the surrounding towns.
Also in the region: Veldhoven, Best, Son en Breugel, Nuenen, Geldrop, Mierlo, Waalre, Valkenswaard

Frequently asked questions
How much does an inspection in Eindhoven cost?
An inspection costs €90 including the call-out fee and VAT, whether you live in the centre or out in Meerhoven. After the inspection we tell you what the treatment will cost. That price is agreed in advance and depends on the pest, the size of the problem and the number of visits.
How quickly can you come, even on a Sunday?
We can be reached 24/7 and work from Monday to Sunday. Call us and we will schedule a visit as soon as possible. With a wasp nest next to the front door or a rat in the house, we take the urgency of your situation into account when planning.
Can my children and my cat stay at home?
In most cases, yes. We use products sparingly and precisely, and bait goes into locked stations that children and pets cannot open. For a flea or bed bug treatment we may ask you to keep out of a room for a few hours. We always discuss this with you beforehand.
There is a wasp nest in my cavity wall. Can I block the hole?
Better not. If you close off the entrance, the wasps will look for another way out, and that is sometimes indoors, through a socket, a ceiling spotlight or a gap by the window frame. Have the nest treated first. A few days later, once no more wasps are flying, you can safely seal the opening so no new nest appears next year.
My neighbours have mice too. Is it worth treating only my house?
In terraced housing, such as in Woensel or Tongelre, crawl spaces often run beneath several homes, so mice move back and forth. Proofing and treating your own house certainly helps, but the effect is greater if your neighbours join in. We can inspect several addresses in one round and agree a price per home.
I live in an older house in Philipsdorp or Stratum. How do I recognise woodworm?
Look for small round holes of about one to two millimetres in beams, floorboards or old furniture, with little piles of fine, pale bore dust underneath. Fresh dust points to an active infestation, whereas old holes without dust may be a problem that has long since ended. We assess this during the inspection and advise whether treatment is needed.
Is there anything I should do while I wait for you?
Keep your distance from wasps and hornets and do not try to tackle them yourself. Store food and rubbish in closed containers and leave droppings, gnaw marks or dead insects where they are, so we can see what we are dealing with. With fleas, a thorough vacuum helps. With bed bugs, it is better not to move anything to other rooms.
Do you also work for businesses, for example on Strijp-S or in hospitality?
Certainly. We help offices, shops, restaurants, cafés, landlords and owners' associations throughout Eindhoven. For businesses we time the treatment around opening hours and give prevention advice, so the pests stay away in the longer term as well.

Pest control in Eindhoven for homes and businesses
Eindhoven is growing fast. Alongside the old village centres of Woensel, Stratum, Gestel, Strijp and Tongelre, modern districts such as Meerhoven have sprung up, and former factory complexes like Strijp-S have been given a new purpose. All these types of housing, from workers' cottage to loft, attract pests of their own. Ongediertebestrijding Eindhoven knows these differences and offers pest control in Eindhoven to residents, landlords and business owners seven days a week.
Our exterminator always starts with a thorough inspection. Only once it is clear which animal is involved and how it gets in do we choose a treatment. That makes pest control in Eindhoven quicker and means fewer products are needed.
Mouse control in Eindhoven
In the terraced houses of Woensel and Tongelre, homes often share a continuous crawl space. A mouse that gets in next door can be in your meter cupboard in no time. Typical signs are gnaw marks on cables and packaging, droppings along the skirting boards and scratching behind the wall or above the ceiling, especially in the evening.
Our mouse control begins with the building itself: air bricks, pipe openings and gaps of about 6 mm or more. We seal these and then treat indoors with traps or locked bait boxes. It works best when several neighbours tackle the problem together. Want to prevent it yourself? Keep bin bags out of the utility room and keep the crawl space dry.
Rat control in Eindhoven
Rats are less noticeable than mice in Eindhoven, but they regularly turn up along the Dommel, on allotments and around chicken coops and compost heaps. Tunnels under paving, freshly dug soil next to the shed or birdseed that keeps disappearing are clear clues. Indoors, rats usually arrive via a leaking sewer connection.
Rats in a park or on the street can be reported to the gemeente Eindhoven. Rat control with professional rodenticides may only be carried out by certified pest controllers. We trace the rat's route, place bait in locked stations and advise on a non-return drain valve. If everything points to a broken pipe, have it checked with a camera by a drainage specialist.
Wasp nest removal in Eindhoven
With its many gardens, green strips and parks such as the Genneper Parken and the Stadswandelpark, Eindhoven becomes a real wasp city in late summer. We find most nests under roof tiles, behind fascia boards, in cavity walls and in garden sheds. A single wasp nest can grow to thousands of insects within a few months, and they become more aggressive as the season goes on.
We work quickly and precisely. We apply a product to the nest or its entrance, preferably in the evening when the wasps are inside, and things calm down soon afterwards. Never seal the entrance to a wasp nest yourself: the wasps will chew their way indoors, sometimes through a socket or the ceiling. If you spot a small nest as early as May, call us early.
Bed bug treatment in Eindhoven
Eindhoven attracts students, tech professionals and business travellers from all over the world. Bed bugs travel with them, in suitcases, rucksacks and second-hand furniture. You can recognise them by bites that often form a line on arms or legs, rust-coloured spots on the mattress and small, flat insects in the seams and screw holes of the bed.
Do not throw everything out straight away, as that often spreads them further. We inspect the bedroom and adjoining rooms and treat with heat, adding a product in the hiding places where necessary. After a trip, it helps to wash your clothes hot immediately and to unpack your suitcase outside the bedroom.
Flea treatment in Eindhoven
Small red bites on your ankles, especially after entering a house that has stood empty for a while, often point to fleas. They usually come in with a dog or cat, or have been left behind by a previous occupant with pets. The adult fleas you see are only a fraction of the problem: eggs, larvae and pupae sit in rugs, cracks and the pet's bed.
A lasting solution needs a two-pronged approach. Your vet treats the animal and we treat the home. Before our visit, vacuum all floors and upholstery and dispose of the bag outside. Keep doing this for the following weeks, because vibration and warmth tempt the last fleas out of their cocoons.
Cockroach control in Eindhoven
Cockroaches are nocturnal. If you do see them in daylight, for instance in a kitchen on the Stratumseind or in a student house with a shared kitchen, the population is already sizeable. It is usually the German cockroach, which seeks warmth around fridges, ovens, dishwashers and heating pipes. A musty smell and tiny black droppings in cupboards are other clues.
We control cockroaches with gel baits placed where they hide and check the results with sticky traps. In hospitality we plan around your opening hours. Keep the worktop clear and dry overnight yourself, and seal any gaps behind the kitchen plinth.
Ant control in Eindhoven
Sandy soil, as found across much of Eindhoven, suits ants very well. Garden ants build their nests under patio slabs and in summer follow a fixed route to sweet scraps in the kitchen. Pharaoh ants are a different story: these tiny, light-brown ants live in heated buildings such as flats, hospitals and offices, spreading through walls and pipework.
We first establish which ant we are dealing with. For garden ants, bait along the trail works well, combined with sealing gaps. Pharaoh ants need a specialist, building-wide approach without sprays. You can prevent problems by cleaning the ant trail and keeping food in sealed containers.
Woodworm treatment in Eindhoven
Philipsdorp, Villapark and the old heart of Stratum have many pre-war homes with timber floors, joists and roof structures. That is where we regularly find woodworm: round holes smaller than a match head and little heaps of fine bore dust. The larvae live in the wood for years before the beetle emerges, usually in spring or summer.
Not every old infestation is still active. During the inspection we look for fresh dust and check the condition of the timber. If treatment is needed, we apply a product precisely to the affected parts. For old furniture or a badly damaged loft we advise on repairs. A dry, well-ventilated crawl space makes the wood less attractive.
Silverfish control in Eindhoven
Silverfish dart away as soon as you switch on the bathroom light at night. They are fast, shiny insects of about a centimetre that feed on skin flakes, mould and starch. In older houses they often point to a damp crawl space or leaking sealant joints. In new-build homes, such as in Meerhoven, grey silverfish sometimes appear, a close relative that looks similar and also lives in dry rooms.
We find out where the moisture comes from and treat the hiding places behind skirting boards and sealant edges. Grey silverfish need a different approach using bait. Good ventilation, not leaving wet towels lying around and sealing cracks all help to keep them away.
Moth control in Eindhoven
Small moths fluttering out of the wardrobe or kitchen cupboard give away a moth problem. Clothes moths lay their eggs in wool, cashmere and felt, often in a wardrobe that is rarely opened. Pantry moths usually arrive in a bag of flour, muesli or birdseed from the shop and then spread through the entire food cupboard.
We help you find the source and use pheromone traps to monitor the males. For clothes moths we treat wardrobes and textiles in a targeted way. Wash or freeze affected clothing, vacuum the wardrobe thoroughly and store dry goods in containers with tight lids.
Hornet nest removal in Eindhoven
Noord-Brabant is seeing the Asian hornet too. You can recognise this invasive species by its almost black body with one orange-yellow ring near the tail and legs with yellow tips. The large summer nest usually hangs high in a tree, where the leaves hide it until autumn. The primary nest in spring is smaller and lower down, for instance in a shed or under a roof overhang.
Never try to remove a hornet nest yourself. We bring the right protective gear and equipment to treat and remove the nest safely. Please also report your sighting via waarneming.nl, so the spread can be tracked properly.
Bee nest removal in Eindhoven
A swarm of honey bees hanging from a tree or a wall in spring looks impressive but is usually peaceful. Bees are important pollinators, so we do not exterminate them. A beekeeper can gather the swarm and settle it in a hive. Bumblebees like to nest in an old mouse hole, a bird box or under insulation material, and their colony lives for just one season.
Not sure whether you are looking at bees or wasps? Describe what you see over the phone and we will help you identify it. With bumblebees we usually advise leaving the nest alone. If honey bees have settled in a cavity wall, we discuss the options with you, preferably involving a beekeeper.
Pigeon control in Eindhoven
Pigeons look for sheltered spots with a view: the roof edges of offices, the space under solar panels, the balconies of city-centre apartments and the old factory facades around Strijp. Their droppings soil terraces and window sills and can block gutters. Add to that the cooing early in the morning.
Pigeon proofing is tailor-made. Depending on the situation we use spike strips, tensioned wire, bird netting or mesh to close off the space under solar panels. We first remove old nests and droppings so the spot loses its appeal. Do not leave bread or birdseed on the balcony, because that is exactly what draws them in.
The cost of pest control in Eindhoven
A visit from Ongediertebestrijding Eindhoven starts with an inspection for €90 including the call-out fee and VAT. That means no separate mileage charge for the drive to Woensel-Noord, Gestel or Meerhoven, so pest control in Eindhoven starts with a clear, fixed amount.
After the inspection you receive a set price for the treatment, which we agree with you in advance. The amount is set by the type of pest, the size of the infestation and the number of visits needed. You never pay for work you have not approved, and the bill stays competitive.
